UN-Related Slogan Cancels (Machine and Hand) used in the United States
UN-Related Meter Slogan Cancels (Machine and Hand) used in the United States
The following listing is an attempt to list all slogan hand or machine cancellations used in the United States with slogans related to the United Nations, its Agencies, and its Programs. This would include Predecessor Organizations (although none are known at present). Excluded are cancellations used on United Nations stamps at New York (since October 24, 1951).
The listing attempts to list all such slogans chronologically, documenting City of Use, Machine type, Earliest and Latest Date of Use, Colors, and Users. Under each cancellation type, listings are alphabetical by City. Where possible, images are provided of the cancellation. A separate listing is made for each City zone or zip code observed.
This listing is only a beginning, and your help is requested to fill in the gaps. If you have information on unlisted slogans, cities, zones, zip codes, colors, or users, earlier or later dates of use, or have better images available, please provide that information to bclemjunior@gmail.com. Color images would be most helpful to document your information.
One area of known deficiency is the 1993 World AIDS Day cancels. There were many more cities of use, as well as some cancels in other formats. Please help to fill in the missing information, providing images if possible.
